Chief Exec Receives £173 k Salary

Chief executive of Lincolnshire County Council, Tony McArdle received a salary of £173,226 in 2009/10
. You might think this was high enough, but dont forget the further £32,833 in pension contributions too.
Now we are not sure what the average wage in Lincolnshire is off hand but would imagine its around £20,000 p.a, which shows how extortionate this salary is. Unsurprisingly, Cllr Martin Hill (CONservative) the leader of Lincolnshire County Council and Cllr John Marriot - Lib Dem leader on the council both say his wage is fine and doesnt need reducing.
Readers may like to know that Tony McArdle is a member of the "executive board" on the unelected Lincolnshire Assembly that now "dictates" policy for Lincolnshire, without any real representation from elected councillors. If you havent already worked out, it is the chief executives of councils that are the real controllers/decision makers as elected councillors now have very little say. A cynic would say these executives are highly paid to keep quiet about what is really going on.
It is the Lincolnshire Assembly that likes to engage with the common purpose organisation too - which trains future leaders to "lead beyond authority" and uses terms like the post democratic era.
Oh what a tangled web they weave, which in the fullness of time will be unwoven!
