Dear Mr Osborne,
This is the third time of writing to you (one letter and one e mail) and to date, no answer has been received.
I am complaining about the waste of my money by Trevor Phillips of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission on his pursuing a personal vendetta against the British National Party. We, the public, are paying for seventy top lawyers and barristers plus, of course, all the costs of running this department – to what end? All of their trumped up charges against the BNP will not benefit the British public one iota.
If ever there was a disgraceful waste of tax payers money, Trevor Phillips and his EHRC are prime examples. How long are you going to let this rampant communist misuse our money, when the rest of us are having to tighten our purse strings?
I look forward to your answer.
Yours sincerely
Malcolm Bouchier

Letter from the Treasury , dated August 2 2010, and signed by G Osborne and reads as follows:-
Dear Mr Bouchier,
Thank you for your letter about public spending.
Last year Britain's deficit was the largest in our peacetime history. Reducing this deficit - a legacy of the previous government - is the most urgent issue facing Britain. This will be a challenging task, but we are committed to do this in a way that strengthens and unites the country. We will be guided by our principals of freedom, fairness and responsibility.
I have said that we want to engage and involve the whole country in the difficult decisions that will have to be taken. We have been actively seeking views and advice from interested parties and your letter is a valued contribution to that process. We will be considering suggestions as part of the current Spending Review, where we are looking across the board at how public money is spent and will allocate departmental budgets. When I announce the conclusions on 20th October, I will seek to highlight areas where public ideas have been taken into account.
We launched the Spending Challenge on line on 24th June where we asked all public sector workers to share their most innovative yet practical ideas for delivering services to citizens whilst saving money in the process. The web site was open for two weeks and received over 68000 suggestions.
We have now opened this forum to the wider public and you can find it at http://spendingchallenge.hm-treasury.gov.uk . I would encourage you to participate further in this process, and am grateful for your contribution. (Unfortunately this is now closed, were you asked? Ed)
Yours sincerely,
George Osborne, (signature)
Chancellor of the Exchequer.
