Unemployment rising

Latest figures reveal that the number of people from Sleaford out of work has almost doubled within a year, with a 46% increase, according to the Office for National Statistics. During December 2008 there were 559 people unemployed within Sleaford, which compares to 816 people during December 2009. Louth had 640 people unemployed in December 2009 and Horncastle had 432.
Overall, in North Kesteven District Councils area, 1,524 people were out of work in December 2009, compared to 1,088 in Dec 08 showing a 40% increase in a year.
