Dear Sirs

In response to the article regarding the database of 50,000+ DNA samples in Lincolnshire (1st Nov) it is about time people realised what is happening in this country. The political elite have decided (without asking us) how we are to live our lives and bit by bit our freedoms are being eroded. This is being done in a cynical way so the public are fooled into thinking it is in their best interest.

This latest example is being promoted the same way as cctv was to try to prevent and help solve crimes and to protect us. The 4.2 million cctv cameras that now monitor everyone’s move in Britain have not helped the true spiralling crime statistics let alone the cost of them that could have put 1000’s of police officers on the beat to make a real difference.

Follow up:

Only recently we heard about the implication that 800 city council employees are to be trained to check in homes to see if there are any signs of child abuse, when in reality they are to be used to spy on ordinary people. What about I.D cards costing us £billions (we don’t have), more and more legislation and endless form filling or the more sinister biometric finger printing of school children that is now being used in some schools as a means of registering when school meals are purchased by pupils.

If you think the “powers that be” care about your freedoms, democracy or welfare why do they close hospitals, deny people treatment, close schools, under equip the armed forces, let pensioners starve or freeze to death whilst feeding their own faces at the trough by claiming extortionate expenses? Where was the EU referendum that was promised?

If we do not stop this creeping invasion of our freedoms we will find that we no longer live in a free Britain but will be living in “regions” more reminiscent of a police state with untold powers.
